Title: Blood
Authors: K.J. Wignall
Published: Egmont USA
First thing: For starters I didn’t know what to expect from this book. Sometimes the title of the book will give away what is written in the book, but not this time. IN this book I was intrigued that an author turned a vampire book to an adventure between a destiny and romance. Something’s of this book that jumped out of me was how supernatural this book was wrapped in. Second thing was I thought this book was wrapped in a bloodbath, but sorry to disappoint no gore. The third thing that I noticed was that Will became a vampire to reach his destiny. What was interesting about this book was how it was like a domino. When one piece falls the others fall together and most of the domino pieces were about his past recollecting and emerging for the readers to understand just what happened to him.
Summary: “Will is a vampire in danger. Heir to the Earl of Mercia, he was brutally attacked and buried in the thirteenth century before he was able to assume his title. Perpetually sixteen, Will’s life has been lonely. He leaves his tomb every so often, adapts to the present day, feeds his bloodlust, and never gets close to anyone. Until now. Waking from a twenty-year slumber, hungry for the blood that sustains his undeath, he meets Eloise—but can’t bear to make her his next victim. Drawn to a girl he can never have, but whose fate seems bound with his own, he feels the need to protect her. But Will has an enemy who will stop at nothing to find him . . . and he’s closing in. . . .(goodreads)”
Last thing: Although the title of the book looks awesome, this book deceived me. Some ways this book deceived me was that it wasn’t what I expected. I expected a dash of heat, more romance, and a vampire with attitude, not a vampire who is feeling sorry and thinking that being a vampire is a curse. One last thing is that Will slumbers in his tomb for centuries at a time. Which I never heard of a vampire hibernates every so often in centuries although this book is a traditional vampire book, it did not connect to me in a way that most books do. In another way he finds trouble and falls in love with a human girl. Although this book gives an edge I did not like it. Most vampire books that I have are something of what makes a vampire and not hibernating. Yes there are some moments when this book had an awesome combat. As a result I will read the trilogy to this series.
I do want to thank Egmont USA for accepting my request.
